Google Maps enhanced for people with mobility problems
A group of Google employees used 20% of their time to improve Google Maps for people with mobility problems
In Google, employees can use 20% of their time to work on other projects that are not related to their main business, so some of the well-known Google services such as Gmail, AdSense, Google News have been made.
The project was run by Rio Akasaka, a Google Drive product manager. He says availability is a major factor in Google, which has prompted them to develop this app on Google Maps.
From now on, Google Maps users will be able to see more information on the places they are browsing, so people with mobility problems such as people in the wheelchair or people using racks or other mobility aids can see if the facility they want to visit is equipped with aids for people with mobility problems.
